With this newsletter I share some of what I have learned over two decades in public education and apply it all to life beyond the classroom. The newsletter’s name is inspired by D.W. Winnicott’s concept of the “good enough mother” - something I’ve riffed on and applied to teaching (I’ve written about “The Good Enough Teacher” in more detail here). An important caveat: I think there is greatness in all of us! But the focus of this substack is to foster a desire to be good enough — what is, at its heart, a willingness to learn from others and the humility to share with the world — and not be undone by how it is received.
